Spell to Write and Read Wise Guide for Spelling
One set of phonogram flashcards per child: Spell to Write and Read OR All About Spelling OR print your own for free (we will send out a link as the school year approaches).
Choose ONE of the following OR choose a different reading program.
Contact Heritage if you have questions. We will use components of both in class. Students will work through a reading program at their own pace.
Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons-
Weekly suggested assignements will be given from this book for Kindergarten students. 1st grade students will progress rapidly through the first several lessons.
This is a more expensive and extensive program than Teach your Child to Read in 100 easy lessons. We recommend Level 1 for Kindergarten and Level 2 for 1st grade.
Highly recommended:
1st grade: Writing With Ease Level 1, one per family (This will be used in class and it would be great to continue instruction at home. 20 minutes per week.)
Leaves from a Child's Garden of Verses, Robert Louis Stevenson or another poetry book for children- Read one or two poems each week from this or another children's poetry collection.
**IMPORTANT**
